Kahikatea , this one here in the Whakatikei valley must be one of the oldest and largest in the Hutt Valley , up the right hand side is a long dead Rata , taken out by the possums maybe fifty years ago ? the only Kahikatea that I have seen that is larger is the one here , seen at the Tauherenikau racecourse restoration day .
